Privacy policy

This policy explains how AuthenitcBrand, LLC, which publishes Las Vegas Patio Cover Guide at lasvegaspatiocoverguide.com, handles information about the people who use this site. It applies to this website and to the phone number and messaging we use to respond to requests.

1. What we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the request form we collect your name, telephone number, email address, ZIP code, the approximate size and timeline of your project, anything you write in the free-text field, and — if you tick it — the fact that you consented to calls and texts, together with the exact consent wording shown to you and the date and time you agreed. We record the consent text and timestamp deliberately, so that what you agreed to is a matter of record rather than a matter of memory.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours receives standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, the pages you view, and the time you spend on them. See the cookies and tracking section below.

Information we do not collect. We do not ask for and do not want your date of birth, government identification number, financial account details, or payment information. Nothing on this site takes a payment. If somebody claiming to be from this site asks you for a card number, it is not us.

2. What we use it for

• Passing your request to an independent patio cover contractor working in your jurisdiction, so they can contact you and quote the work.
• Responding to you ourselves by email, telephone or text about the request you sent.
• Keeping a record of the consent you gave, including the wording and the timestamp.
• Understanding in aggregate which of our guides people find useful, so we know what to research next.

We do not use your information to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not run behavioural advertising on this site.

3. SMS and text messaging

The consent checkbox on our form is optional. The form submits without it, and if you leave it unticked we will use email instead. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of submitting a request, of receiving quotes, or of any purchase.

If you do opt in:

• Who is texting you. Messages come from Las Vegas Patio Cover Guide, operated by AuthenitcBrand, LLC, and from the independent contractor we connect you with.
• What the messages are. Messages about the specific request you submitted — scheduling a site visit, confirming details, sending a quote.
• How often. Message frequency varies and depends on your conversation about your project.
• Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Those are charged by your mobile carrier, not by us.
• Stopping. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will get one confirmation and then nothing further.
• Help. Reply HELP to any message, or use the contact page.
• Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opting out of text messages does not withdraw your request. It only changes how we and the contractor reach you.

4. Who your information goes to

This is the section worth reading closely, because we are a referral service and we want to be exact about what that does and does not mean.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party for any purpose. Your consent to receive messages from us stays with us. It is not sold, not rented, not passed to affiliates, and not shared with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes.

Your contact details go to one contractor, to do the job you asked for. When you submit a request, the details you gave us — including your phone number — are passed to the specific independent patio cover contractor needed to fulfil that request. That is the purpose of the form and the reason you filled it in. It is fulfilment, not marketing.

We never sell your information. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to data brokers, lead marketplaces, or list buyers. We do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your request is not auctioned to a panel of companies.

Beyond that one contractor, information leaves us only:

Once your details reach the contractor, that company is an independent business and its own privacy practices apply to what it does next. We do not control them. If you want to know how a particular contractor handles your information, ask them before you engage them.

5. Cookies and tracking

This site runs no advertising trackers, no retargeting pixels, no social media tracking widgets, and no third-party session-recording tools. It ships no client-side JavaScript of its own.

We do use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how many people read each guide and which pages lead somewhere useful. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes a truncated form of your IP address to do this. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not connect analytics data to the details you submit through the form.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and doing so will not stop you reading anything here. Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends one.

If we ever add advertising or remarketing tracking, this section will say so before it goes live.

6. Telephone calls and recording

Calls to the number published on this site are handled through a tracked telephone number, which lets us see how many people call and which page they called from.

We do not record calls. Nevada law requires the consent of all parties to record a telephone conversation. If we ever enable recording we will disclose it here first and you will hear an audible notice at the start of the call, before you say anything.

7. How we protect your information

Requests submitted through this site travel over an encrypted connection and are stored in an access-controlled customer relationship platform. Access is limited to the people who need it to respond to requests, and it is protected by individual accounts with multi-factor authentication rather than a shared password. This website is a static site with no database attached to it, which means there is no visitor database on the web server to breach.

We ask contractors we work with to handle homeowner information responsibly and to use it only for the request it relates to.

No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as required by Nevada law.

8. How long we keep it

We keep request records for as long as needed to respond to the request and to answer questions about it afterwards, and then for as long as we are required to retain proof of consent. Consent records — the wording, the timestamp, and any opt-out — are kept for at least four years, because that is the window in which a dispute about consent could realistically arise. Opt-out records are kept indefinitely, because the only way to reliably never message you again is to remember that you asked us not to.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See the next section.

9. Your rights and choices

Whatever state you are in, you can ask us to do all of the following, and we will:

• Tell you what we hold. Ask, and we will tell you what information about you we have and who we passed it to.
• Correct it. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
• Delete it. Ask us to delete your information and we will, except for the minimum record needed to honour an opt-out or to meet a legal obligation.
• Stop the messages. Reply STOP to any text, or ask us in writing. Opting out of marketing does not require you to give a reason.
• Opt out of sale. Nevada law gives Nevada consumers the right to direct a website operator not to sell their covered information. We do not sell your information to anybody, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you are entitled to submit the request, and if you do we will confirm that in writing.

We will not treat you differently, or refuse to pass your request on, because you exercised any of these rights. Send any of these requests through the contact page. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm the request really came from you.

10. Children

This site is for adults arranging construction work on property they own or occupy. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from anybody under 18, and the request form should not be used by anybody under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

11. Links to other sites

We link out constantly — to building departments, to the state contractors board, to statutes, to cost guides and to research. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we do not control them. A link is not an endorsement of anybody's privacy practices, including a contractor's.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will change the effective date at the top and, for anything that materially changes what happens to your information, say what changed. The version in force is the one published here.
